*The remains of St Rose Philippine Duchesne rest at this church within a marble sarcophagus on the right side of the nave. In 1818 she left her native France and came to America where she began establishing schools in Missouri and Louisiana. In 1852 at the age of 83 she passed away in St Charles, Missouri.
